World History:
World History 10 covers the Scientific Revolution to 1914. The central coverage will be the American, French and Haitian Revolutions. Economic, religious, social, technological and cultural aspects will be integrated into the class in addition to the more standard political analyses. The course will use varied teaching strategies with the intent of developing skills in note taking; the reading and interpretation of primary and secondary sources; and authoring in-class and research essays. The emphasis is on concepts of history and analysis of events. Themes and concepts such as the universality of sociological and historical experiences and the comparison of past to the present events will be the purpose of the class.
